Blended Iced Coffee Drinks

Here's how to make iced coffee drinks at home like Starbuck's Frapuccino®, or The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf's Ice Blended® lates. All you will need is a good blender with a pulsed ice breaker setting, some ice, sugar, and Nestle's Frothe coffee drink mix. You can try other mixes too, but I have found this one readily available, and not that expensive if you get it when its on sale. It works well when used in the quantity listed below.
More recipes:

Ingredients:

1 cup Ice water (1 cup ice, filled to 1 cup with cold water)
1/2 cup Nestle Nescafe Frothe' drink mix
  1/8 cup Sugar
  1 cup Ice
Note that ice slices are better than ice cubes (a little easier to break). If you start with crushed ice, you will have to adjust the quantity of ice downward since there will be less space for air or water.
Pour the first cup of mixed ice and water into the blender, add the drink mix and sugar, and pulse to break the ice. Once the ice is broken, blend until smooth (you might have to switch back and forth with pulse mode occasionally). Once smooth, add the rest of the ice, and again use the pulse or icebreaker mode until the new ice is broken, then switch to blend mode and blend until smooth. For the blender to properly break the ice, it is important that you have enough liquid for the amount of ice to be broken - that's why you add the ice in two steps, and not all up front.

Note that I first tried this with 3/4 cups mix, and no sugar, and it came out good but so strong I felt I'd be awake for the next day. I then cut the amount of mix by a third, but added 1/8 cup sugar to keep it sweet.
