Onion Dip

Ingredients:


   16 Oz     Sour cream (1 pint)
   2 package Onion soup mix
 1/3 cup     Crumbled Bacon (optional)

This is an easy recipe for the onion dip you have probably had with potato chips at parties. As listed above, this will have pretty strong flavor. If you wish you can cut the amount of onion soup mix in half (in fact, most of the recipes I have seen for this use half this amount (i.e. 1 package to a pint of sour cream) - I just like the more intense onion, beef, and salty flavors.

My preference for the onion soup mix is the Lipton Beefy Onion Soup, which comes in boxes with two packets. Almost any variety will do, however.

The crumbled bacon is optional, and is usually not included in traditional recipes for onion dip.
